Recently you mentioned that 2.4 would be ready on Oct 1. I looked on the download page, but its not there. Could you please direct me to where I can find it?

Church.  I've had church things pop up the last three days and distract me.  First I was helping someone move, then today and tomorrow is called "conference", where the church leaders talk 3 times a day for about 2 hours at a time.

Anyway, I may still meet the deadline for Central time zone.

I'm on the West Coast (the only time zone that really matters!), and I show you still have 7.75 hours. Go man, go!  :boing:

I have an install ready (it's more of a patch than a main install I'd hoped b\for, but it's something!).

Unfortunately, the only public computers available at the moment refuse to allow me to insert my CD and copy to the FTP.

I'm going to try a friend's house.  He may or may not be home...  (cross fingers).  If I can't do it tonight, it'll be nearly 14 hours until the good public library opens and I can upload to the FTP, which would suck.

Okay...I downloaded 2.4 and opened it. When I try to start a new simulation I get a message saying " cannot locate the variables file (sysvars2.21.txt). Please advise.
     Thanks

It should give you the choice to browse it. In this case it will be found in the DarwinbotsII folder. The program should run just fine then.

It has always done this for me while running the program directly from code rather than from the executable.

Me too, until I added a little snippet that does it for me automatically.

Search for Numsgil in the code.  I think I left a comment about it.  Feel free to add whatever you want to that section to get the code to run right for you.

Same again.

The settings files are located in a folder called "Settings" inside the DarwinBotsII folder.

Just browse and select "Default.set"

Should then run just fine.

Wonder why you are having such a hard time.  :(

Maybe he did not install the original DB, but only the latest patch?

Or installed the patch not in the same location as his original install.

Either would do that.
