Have you checked out my tutorial on the old FTP server?

The most recent and up to date version is "DarwinBots Tutorial V2.3" or something along those lines. It is a little out of date now but will still give you some pointers on how to design a decent robot.

SimpleBot 2.3 (one of the demo bots) is still doing OK in the F2 league even now.
