« on: August 05, 2009, 12:25:22 PM »
Hello I am new here, and I`ve already got a problem. I can`t even start Darwinbots, because windows Installer popups and says:"Preparations for the installation" as if I`m trying to install it, but I allready done it! Tried to run not patched 2.1 version, tried to run 2.44, anyway it did not help. Please give advice.
p.s
Sorry for my bad english, I`m from Russia.

I used to get that too.  It's some other program you installed screwing with the visual basic run times.  I'm can't remember what the actual app was, though.

Anyway, IIRC there's an option to cancel the install.  Just keep canceling and eventually it gets the idea.

Thanks a lot for your advice Numsgil!  It works!
But some times it really frustrating alas. For example, when I try to load previos simulation, this irritating pseudoinstallation agian popups, and I need to over do the same, cancelling all thing. Is there any possible way to fix that Visual Basic runtimes?

Googling around lead me to this thread.  It's apparently some issue with Office 2003.  There are basically two solutions: uninstall office or add some fake registry keys.
