Cisco Clean Access Agent
« on: August 01, 2009, 11:04:16 AM »
I just installed DarwinBots2.1.
When I open the application to run the program, a window pops up saying:

"Please wait while Windows configures Cisco Clean Access Agent" then another window which says:

"The feature you are trying to use is on a network resource that is unavailable.

Click OK to try again, or enter an alternate path to a folder containing the installation package 'CCAAgent.msi' in the box below"

Apparently it expects that I have CCAA installed on my computer, however, I couldn't find any reference to CCAA
concerning DarwinBots online or on the forum. This wasn't an issue when I first installed it on a different computer running
Windows XP, as the university required that I have CCAA installed to access the network, but I am currently using Windows 7
which the university allows to go without (also, I'm not currently at the university) and it appears that it is not easily acquired.

If I click Cancel, it says: "Error 1706. No valid source could be found for product Cisco Clean Access Agent. The Windows Installer cannot continue."

Then "Please wait will Windows configures Cisco Clean Access Agent" returns.

If I press cancel three times, the game will come up.

It's not a Darwinbots issue.  At least not directly.  I know of CCAA but I've never used it myself.  My guess is that since Darwinbots has some networking components, CCAA is trying to warn you and ask if you want to enable network access for it, but CCAA isn't quite installed correctly on your computer so it freaks out and tries to install itself, fails a few times, and then gives up.

But really that's me just guessing.  I have no idea.
