It was a Seasnake wich had been infected by the virus version of fruitflies (From the Flyfruit alge) and had it's dna deleted.
It's been infected twice and seems to have mutated a lot...
It no longer consumes everything, but holds on to the alge and stays peacefull... only when something attacks the alge does it go nuts and kill eveything in the sim

SlyStalker:
sounds interesting, but i dont see any use for the cap OR the spores... i think it would be better if the one cell that starts the colony reproduces, and then forms ties to them to form short tentacles to find even more food that is then relayed back to the original cell, then when it reaches the maximum ties, it can either branch out from its 'tentacles' to form even bigger ones or 'colonise' new algae blooms with new offspring
