I have a feeling people will always post new ideas to the program , (once they catched PY and NUM responding to the E-grid idea it was all over)

So I Seriously Suggest we delay some stuff for version 3.1 or 3.2 and only code the stuff you guys have a decent engineering plan off. It will mean versions are going to be released faster; PY and NUM will enjoy being away from the computer for a while.

New ideas are good!  Of course, not all will make it in 3.0.  3.0 will be whichever version gets enzymes added to it.

And the env grid was (Carlo's?) idea from way back when.  There was legacy bits of it all over the program since before I joined.

I'll release 2.36 whenever I can figure out this stupid tie bug!

I'm going to take a middle ground type stance here.

Let's stop introducing new ideas and cull out all of the old ones, like moving and feeding and, like, time and stuff.

NUM , I can't resume the work on mutating first bot without the new mutations I suggested to PY, please include them in 2.36.

I have somewhat modified mutations. Here is what I have done so far.
  • Added the feature that you specifically asked for which puts *.sysvars, *number and pure numbers, into conditions.
  • Added three sliders to control panel to adjust the probability of the above options.
  • Added a new control to adjust the probability of evolving a new "value" in the action step of the gene. On looking at the code, this was completely lacking. Chance for it to be either *.sysvar, *number or just number also controlled by (same) sliders in control panel.
  • Introduced a Gaussian probability system for changed values during mutations. Much more chance of very small changes but large ones still possible.
As soon as Num gets his little problems sorted out, I will forward him the code to be integrated into the whole program.

Will definitely be included in V2.36
