Is this possible? Ive tried using the number of eyes method it didnt really work.

You mean conspec recognition between plants?
 
 You could add a series of junk to the end of the genome (2.4 or later) to give it some "false eyes".  Just throw a bunch of *.eye5 at the end of the genome before the end (if you're using an end, if not, just throw it at the end of the file).

since that comes at the end the children will still be attached to the parent wont they, atleast according to alga parasite.

I'm not sure where you're coming from.  Child parent seperation isn't really related to conspec recognition, at least not directly.

well with alga_parasite the parent attaches to the child even after birth tie separation because of faulty conspec recognition on my part thats why I was wondering if it would work.

Oh okay.
 
 I think what you're running into is the cycle delay between when a bot reproduces and it's baby registers its refvars.
 
 Any baby born will have it's refeye, for example, set to 0 for the first cycle.
 
 You need to check to see if the bots you're looking at have refage 0 =, if they do, don't attack them.
