New Forum
« on: April 04, 2006, 11:37:01 PM »
We have a new forum.  Some things were lost in the move.  Specifically the last 24 hours of posts (I can give you URLs to go look for them if you want, they aren't gone, but I have hidden them), attachments, custom smileys, avatars, and our skin.

The blog and photo gallery isn't working yet, It honestly took me hours to get this far, I'll add them probably tomorrow.  I'll slowly redesign this entire forum with custom things!  It will be better than ever before.  Feel free to submit skins, icons, etc. for the forum to make it more home-y.

Forum search now works incredibly well!  Give it a try.  That's been a pet peeve for the last year.  Thank goodness we can actually search for things now.

I hope everyone will feel this move has been beneficial.  Right now the forum is sort of raw, but since the entire thing is on our webspace it gives us unprecedented power to play with things.

If anyone feels up for the challenge to tinker with the settings, skins, etc. I can give them admin access and let them play with settings.

The attachments on the old board still exist, so old links like that probably still work just fine.  I basically just hid all the forums from being viewable without knowing the URL.

Feel free to create any new attachments here for them.  Tell me if there are any uploading issues, I haven't gone through and really played with the admin settings here yet.

Looks good, if a little different.

We are going to need to change a few settings though. Avatar size for one.
I have reverted to my older avatar for the moment.

If I get the chance later on today I will try to restore all the smileys and settings from the old forum. I should have a nice list of them all somewhere.

Now if I can just remember where I left them all..........

The image gallery is up.  I believe you can upload pictues to it instead of (or another way in addition to) posting them in threads.

I think there's a way to log in using an email address.  I haven't explored it though.  I can reset your old user name and password to get you started.

edit:
Henk, I've reset your password, you should get an email about it.

I haven't received any mails... have you sent it to henkbroekhuizen@gmail.com ?
It might be possible that my account is linked to my old (now defunct) mailadres (capthenk@for-president.com)
thx in advance,

It seems that very old posts no longer really exist in the forum.  I went looking through old topics in the suggestions forum and alot of them seem to be empty.

I want other people to try looking at old topics and confirming if they are indeed empty or not.

Are they actually gone or are the display settings cutting them out after a certain time period. I've seen that a lot before in the old forum.

Can anyone see anything in the F1 bots forum?

I can't see anything at all, even though the index claims that there are loads of entries. All the other robot files seem OK though.

I check the settings and they are set to "show all" so it isn't a time cutoff thing.
