Looking for settings files...

<< < (2/3) > >>

Botsareus:
Nope.

And I found out somthing else too:

When you load a simulation the 'big blue screen' gets unset again...

Numsgil:
Look under advanced physics.

The controls in the main GUI are simply ways to set some predefined physics constants.  The actual constants themselves are what I propose F1 is setting more or less correctly.  Maybe not the newer ones (Planet Eaters) but definately the older ones like friction and brownian motion.

The physics do not preclude having settings that are indicative of both solids and fluids.

Botsareus:
Here is what I did:

I set Z axis gravity to 3

and I set The big blue screen is a intermindiate fluid.

Is this ok?

But when I load it from a save sim , big blue screen gets unset again...

Numsgil:
Z axis gravity is simply a multiplier for friction effects.  If kinetic and static coefficients for friction are 0, Z axis gravity basically does nothing.

The 'is it a fluid or solid' simply sets wether the resistive force is constant (in the case of friction on a solid surface) or proportional to velocity (Drag in a fluid).  That is, it effects Z axis gravity and the coefficients, and viscosity and density.

Botsareus:

--- Quote ---If kinetic and static coefficients for friction are 0, Z axis gravity basically does nothing.
--- End quote ---

kinetic  = 3^0.5
static  = 3^0.5
Z axis gravity  = 1

SOLID = metal (or???)

is this good?

DO NOT FORGET: WHEN I LOAD THE SETTINGS AGAIN, I HAVE TO FIX IT ALL THE TIME id.e. SET IT TO SOLID ALL THE TIME...   :tantrum:  :D
