Sigh, but they didn't. The ties disappear the next cycle and don't seem to cause any movement in the bots.

It might be something to do with hitting the robot array limit, and forcibly killing a bot to make room for a new one. That would be my guess anyway

Fixed in 2.43.1k
The rob array now sizes dynamically. The limit on number of bots in a sim has been completly removed. Should also reduce the working set for smaller sims and help performance on computers with smaller amounts of RAM.
