Title: Cost reduction for Tiers
Post by: Endy on November 05, 2005, 03:40:07 AM
Basically the cost reduction for multibots looks like it is based entirely on ties and not percisely multibot status.

Hey look at this not only can I eat another bot with ties it saves me nrg when I make stuff!! :D

Nothing really major just wanted to see if this could get changed in future versions. Thanks :)

I'm probably going to eliminate this entirely when I move to specialization as the incentive to multibot-ilize.

Actually, I was thinking about not mentioning it. Just imagine the cost savings I could reap, having a bot only make resources when it's tied :sly:  :)

Ah, but that would be a hollow victory wouldn't it.

We need to reinvigorate the leagues.  I think I'll make a league bot to prompt everyone to better themselves.

how about a stable version of DB that actually works first?
asking too much?

Yeah, that's the only problem finding these oddball "cheats" (not precisly bugs). They're fun to think about using but they're so very wrong to actually use. ;)

New bots should be interesting, now you'll have to consider the cost effectivness of inc/dec usage, the bit manipulators, and the (*) command. Should be some cool species ahead. :)

I'm going to have to see about working on this some more. I've been dividing my time lately between Fable(PC) and Nanopond(405000000 cycles  ).

Oh yeah, I should be heading out to sea for about a week, pretty soon. Our boat currently has few bugs of it's own to work out

Griz, I'm running 2.37.5 right now at default settings with Perseverians.  It's been 80,000 cycles and no problems so far.  Mutations are enabled.  What sort of problems are you having?

Offtopic:

   :D  ^_^

Honestly, the only reason I let it go so long was that it takes such a LONG time to produce a reproducing and feeding bot(some can do one and not the other ^_^ ) and then even longer before bot-bot interactions happen. It is an interesting little simulator though. I only wish there was more stuff for it.

Giving me some good ideas, I might see about in the future trying to make an online version based on some of it's rules and DB's options. :)

Oh yeah, if anyone else wants to leave this thing going for long stretches, try to check up on the dump files occasionally. These can reah massive 3060 KB > sizes per txt file.

I have added no new features what so ever the last month.  Everything I've been doing has been bug fixing and GUI fixing.

Hence why it's still 2.4 and not 2.41
