Title: Version 2.44.04 Delete Species
Post by: Tj3 on March 20, 2010, 08:23:38 AM
When you try to set up a sim in DB 2.44.04, and you want to delete a species from the list of species, something weird happens. If the species selected is not the last item on the list, it gets deleted, and it's fine. If it is the bottom one, DarwinBots crashes with this error:

Run-time error '380':
Invalid property value

I have the same problem. I just learned to live with it by starting the species I couldn't delete with zero starting bots.

Can you post a settings file that I can use to repro this bug?  I fixed a bug where deleting a species when the species list was empty would crash the sim, so maybe I introduced this one on accident.

When it crashes, there is no error.sim. I think it's because the sim doesn't start.
To reproduce it, just add 2 or more species, then try to delete the last one on the list.

I was able to repro it.  Weird, I specifically checked this when I fixed another bug.

Sounds like the error you get when you try load a species and cancel, and you're left with a blank bot that you have to go back and remove from the list...

Also when you try to save and cancel it crashes. I guess it really doesn't like cancelling/deleting things.

while we're at it, clicking load sim, then clicking cancel shows the message "Cancel selected" and ends the program.

Evil AIs get touchy when you don't do as they want you to...
