If you find that your cost settings keeps going back to 0 whenever you click on 'Custom Simulation Costs' on the 'Physics and Costs' tab, you need to change the regional settings for your operating system. The regional settings is located in the Control Panel. The name may vary depending on your country but it's where you change the settings for language, decimals and similar.
1. Open it and click on the button.
2. Change the decimal value to '.' without the ''
This is a bug in Visual Basic 6 which Darwinbots is designed with and not a bug in Darwinbots, so it's the makers of VB6 that should fix this. Go over and bash them!
Note that changing regional settings may cause problems for other programs that depends on this, like Excel for instance, so remember to change it back if you need to.

I suggest putting this and other design bugs or problems into a pinned topic in the bug-department
We could this together with the vista trouble and other little design-bugs. It would put all kind of bugs in one topic.

I've been updating the installation issues (http://www.darwinbots.com/WikiManual/index.php?title=Installation_Instructions) with new things as we find them.

Nice done Numsgil, that's going to help new users.
The decimal problem stays annoying, dahm excel.
Still for the ones that don't fully understand windows and haven't got a english version this is annoying too. Welwordian for example didn't know what was meant by 'control panel' in his reseting costs topic.
Don't know how to help that but just want to notice. Maybe you can put there translations for different langues. It will seem simple to you but much users will look for the specific button, there are a lot of buttons in windows.
In english.
Control Panel->Regional and Language Options->
In dutch.
Configuratiescherm->Landinstellingen->
Doesn't even look desame. See the problem.

This will be fixed in 2.43u. I wrote a custom input string handler. May take me a while to wire it up to every place a number can be input, but it works for CostX.
