I like my interpretation better.

And technicallyit would be 'the agents' are coming, since the matrix is more or less a place/thing than a free thinking, autonomous entity.

What I mean is the matrix uses the chines or Japonies Alphabet to incode stuff, the way PY preposed to incode the enzymes.
