Suddenly when I was running a sim I got an error message saying 'Error. Overflow. Saving file as error.sim.' Maybe you can find the cause in the error.sim file.
-
I'm running the sim now, but so far it hasn't crashed. Could be non-deterministic. I've fixed a devide by zero bug since 2.42.2, but no overflows so this is probably a new crash. I'll let it run overnight and see if I can reproduce it.

There are 11 kinds of people in the world, those who understand binary, those who don't and Erwin Schrodenger.
Would that be kinds in the biblical sense? And if so, who let Erwin Shrodenger onto the ark?

It's a rare bug. This was the first time it happend to me in this version, but everytime I loaded this save or the save I had previously it kept crashing the same, just within seconds. I decided to start over with a new sim.

Sounds like Eric's fixed it then. You just need to wait for the next release.

Maybe. Ran it all night it with no crash....

I think I may have caught this, or at least I caught an overflow crash that might be it, though I caught it in a different sim. A temporary local Integer varable (totslime) could overflow when the slime from two very slimy bots was shared in shareslime(). Fixed in 2.42.3. See #15 here (http://www.darwinbots.com/Forum/index.php?showtopic=1240).

I wouldn't know. Mostly I've been into non-fiction lately.

He was probably both there and not there, only nobody looked for him so the probability wave never collasped...

Probably a good job they didn't keep their cats in a box then. Otherwise we might be out by one feline "kind"
