Celestia's one of my favorite programs.  I love the sense of scale it allows, the logarithmic zoom, etc.

Dunno, I haven't played with it for quite a while.

Along the same vein, check out something called "Noctis".  It lets you roam around a galaxy in a space ship and land on the surface of planets.
