Has anyone else noticed that the tighter the restrictions on reproduction the better evolution sims work out?

Hi guys!

I haven't done any bot-coding ever so please forgive my not knowing anything about it at all; But I had the craziest DarwinBots centered dream last night and feel like sharing it ;D

First thing which probably would be annoying was the normal botcode was compiled into some quartodecimal language made up of As Bs Cs and Ds, and divided into threes;
 like AAA DAB DCC DDD; and mutation would change As and Bs instead of numbers or W/E.  

What was cool though was each bot had a number of slots determined by the simulation setting for what I'll call chips that are AA or BCD or something, and there were commands to create chips or delete chips (with only the ability to delete something specifically mentioned or clear all slots) or send it to other bots; These chips had two basic purposes: for conditions like if I have AAA then do something; and that an eye see's a bot a it's chips, the eye returns AAA BAC DAA (probably without order) instead of returning just a 1 or W/E.  

In the dream my bots started using these chips to do things like, having a leader tag which enemy they wanted as a target with a certain chip; recognize offspring by chip layout and eventually mutate into separate "packs"; multi-bots that grew their multiple parts by distributing chips (specifically it waited after being born and then started making it's parts and giving it chips right after to prevent them from becoming a master)

And then I woke up ;D The End.
