Meh, that is kinda cool Shadow. I used to write electronic music in my free time, but back in school so no more free time. Other then occasionally check my Darwinbots experiments for progress.

hahah :D oh yeah, what do you do in computer science actually?
-
No idea. I do know it will be something to do with AI and biology.
-
Oh, I see what you are asking. Computer science is fancy word for programming.

bush craft knives, pocket knives, what ever knife i want to make all from scratch (blank piece of steel) usually forging them out to shape. i do all the heat treating and what not myself. the attached file is my latest knife i made

ohh, thats pretty awesome! favourite type of knife to make, and how did you get started with it?
-
You are further then I thought with the art Shadow. I did not realize you make proper handles too.
Once you learn your 2nd programming languages you realize most programming languages are pretty much the same, they only use a different wording to do stuff. What annoys me is some languages do not have a GUI editor so you have to program control locations manually.

i've been working on it for over 2 years now(knife making not the knife, that took 2 weeks) and usually i do better than that, screwed up on the handle, too long. my favorite knives are folding knives. i don't know why but i like the fiddly stuff. also i don't half to make a sheath for them :D

i actually got into internship yesterday (for my course)
doing java testcases for an android app for a county called Akvo with my friend (also from course)
so, thats gonna be intresting ^^
-
well i would have showed you the folding knife i use as my general use knife outside the shop but it seems i've lost it somewhere... wait i just thought of where it might be, but it's too late to check now so i'll check tomorrow... :glare:
-
found it :D
these are the folders i carry with me. the top one is my favorite one to use because i don't have to worry about which side to use
-
oh wow, beautifull, and you sell these or?
btw i always wondered... why put holes through the metal of the knife?
-
simple, grip when opening and style
-
And don't forget, if you have enough of those in a blade, it makes the blade considerably lighter. :P
Quick question: Do you spring load them? Reason I ask is springs are not too easy to make.
-
yes they are spring loaded, they're slip joint pocket knives. the springs i do make myself and no they're not coil springs

As it happens, I'm starting my first week at DeepMind (https://deepmind.com/). Before this I was elsewhere within Google/Alphabet, and before that I worked in the video game industry at Havok. Basically been a professional programmer for 9 years. Almost as long as I've been working on DB3 ;)

That is awesome Numsgil. Now I know why you where inactive for a couple if weeks. I am glad everything went ok.
