Short Bots league / SB Update

New bot in this update is UNA by elite. It's a truly amazing bot that smashed its way through the lines and came out as the new SB number one. Well done Elite!

As I've decided to limit the SB league to 25 places, two of my own bots (Broekhuizen and Schoonmaker) have been eliminated from the SB league. Broekhuizen was the first bot to be entered in the SB league.  -_-

Suggestions / Possible new Abstract Feeding Concept

Idea: give bots the ability to change the angle at which the 'feeding shot' is shot back, at a cost. The bigger the alteration, the bigger the cost to be paid.

for example: bot X gives an extra 5 degrees to a returning feeding shot, thus making feeding bot X more difficult.

The costs of such alterations would be exponentially bigger as the angle gets altered more.

What'ya think?

I reckon a well-programmed bot using vegs as batteries would indeed be a major improvement over current bots, because it would essentially have an indefinite  energysource on-board.  ^_^  :idea:

Yes it does work with me... but there are two 'errors' in it's DNA. (needn't be bad, but does not help with your goal with this bot)

  • Child-bots that are born from a fixed-to-the-spot parent are fixed also, even though they don't have a veggie to feed on.
  • Bots that tie to each other don't sever their ties. this is especially the case with parents/children connections. Maybe you could build in a gene that checks whether the bot is tied to anotherbot of it's species, and then delete that tie
