Title: Multi bot multi bot head
Post by: spork22 on June 02, 2014, 12:39:58 AM
Is a multibot that uses multiple bots to function as a head, but the rest as the body, qualified as a multibot at all?

The only requirement for a multibot is that it uses permanent ties.  It doesn't have to even form a cohesive structure.  A large blob of connected bots could be considered a multibot even.

Really?

I thought I have read somewhere that a robot must have an identifiable head and body organs.
I don't plan on reorganizing the leagues at this point, but it is good to know.

Lets say there was quite a difference in opinion about the matter. I don't think we really settled down on definite rules.

I believe we agreed that the very least a MB needed was a check on *.multi before feeding/attacking/doing stuff.

Ok. I guess I have no interest in working on edit: it MBleague  further. DB2 is slowly dying anyway. I am just having fun working on it, probably the last somewhat important vb6 project I ever write for. The relevancy is dwindling though.

There's a certain spirit to the multibot league.  You want the bots to be cooperative and permanently connected and communicating with each other.  Whether that means they should have designated head bots, etc. or if something more like a biofilm (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Biofilm) qualifies, I'll let each bot writer decide for themselves :P

If left long enough, these bots might begin to form tissue and organs. Although such organs would be much different than those in real life. And it would be really lag-intensive..
