Title: Species Forking
Post by: MysticalDumpling on May 08, 2014, 05:26:51 PM
However great species forking is, it raises one problem- after a few 100 thousand cycles, the population graph gets cluttered with long-extinct species. I saw once a species goes extinct, remove it from all graphs. A forked-off species cannot be replaced if it goes extinct.

I was looking trough that code, and it is real ugly. To the point where I really do not want to touch it in fear of completely messing up the graphs. The graphs should reset themselves after a while. I know it can get a little annoying, but really can not do much about it. Sorry.

I knew this was a problem when I released it. You wanted forking, you got it body.  :sleepin:

Yea, forking is great. Crashes with an overflow every 5th time I try it. I tried to force the graphs to behave differently only if forking is enabled. Stupid sh**  :banghead:

Ok, I think I fixed it.
I have a crash fix from Shadowgod, and another possible physics mod also from Shadowgod but the 2nd one does not look promising as yet again I will have no Idea what I'll be doing.
Should be ready to post a drop by then.

As you may be aware right now I am trying to put some research results together and also run the leagues.

ya, sorry about that. i do seem to find the strangest/random bugs but then again i try to use the program to it's fullest :D

No need for Apology. Usually your stuff is valid enough for me to investigate and in most cases it is a true bug. Keep up the good work.
