Title: Run-time error 14.
Post by: Testlund on December 02, 2014, 02:27:15 PM
I just got this after running two instances for a month. The file is HUGE! Does the autosave save with mutations? That would be bad for very long sims.

EDIT: In fact it's too large to upload here, with a size of 45.1 MB in zipped format. The uploader seems to hang.

So now what do I do? I might be able to use dropbox instead if Botsareus is interested.

No need.
Will be replaced with better architecture and mutation logging will be optional.

Borderline productive.

Test, run I'm directly.

before I completely lose it.

What? Are you trying to fix IM somehow? This bug I'm reporting here happened offline, but I guess I can give IM a try if it helps.

Well, I always get that error when I click the reproduce button, and DB crashes...so I never force reproduction (good habit).

Offtopic: stop saying borderline bot, its *borderline* annoying. (Puns.)

BAH! This topic is about crashing when you run Internet Mode! It has nothing to do with what you have posted here! Give it a break, Spike! Take some time to actually read and understand things instead of just barking out spontaneously what's on your mind!

You're very close to spamming the forum here, Spike! Is this just how you function or are you trying to trick us all? I think you're brighter than that.

Edit: Sorry for my outburst here. I don't like to get angry at people.

Test, It was appropriate, I was telling when I got that error, to aid in pinpointing whats causing it.

-God, you have to have 2 instances of a unknown error to know what the error is from comparing similaritys and differences in lead-up events-

Also, I do happen to work spontaneously from my mind, Its where all best idea's work from.

Testlund is not responding to my PM and was not active for three months. He is my most trusted beta tester, I hope he catches me when I do my last drop or at least stops by for the DB3 beta unveil.

Hi, what's up?  :) Yes, I've been away since there hasn't been any work done on DB2 for a long time, but I'm willing to do some beta testing if Botsareus is back to fix bugs again.

If I'm not logging in here for some time you can always reach me on SoundCloud where I log in a couple of times a week.

Hey testy, you interested in bots which have life cycles?

That would be interesting, but I don't have time to make any bots right now.

Oh no no, me and spork were running an evolution simulation, it was just with my pondmode vegetable but it started to develop (albiet basic) life cycles. The bouyancy script changed so they float up to the top to get sunlight, to the bottom to get waste from corpses and then over again. They might not be doing the intended actions the vegetables should have done, but they are evolving, and interestingly at that.

Ok the most likely culprit is the mutation detail ran out of space judging by amount of cycles in these sims. Should be an easy enough fix.
