When the robot it under design , It set Metabolize a sertain gas in the e-grid that will eventually expire.
When it does expire , the robots will be forsed to evolve:
into getting energy from the sun (special enzymes etc.)
this will be a little harder to do( complex enzymes); because the robot does not have to evolve a hunting strategy and anything at all exsept reproduction code in the dna. = 50% chance
OR
into hunters that eat plants and other robots (not so special enzymes)
this will be a easy to do ( simple enzymes); because the robot does have to evolve a hunting strategy and reproduction code in the dna. = 50% chance
Therefore its a 50/50 chance of going eather way.

If you know what bots will evolve into, then it is not fun. The fun is to see them evolve into something completely unexpected!
P.S: Don't bother to say it, I know - goverment is talking :)

HAHAHA , shvartz is doing p.s.es on me now , I really need to stop the horsment.
Anyway,
There is still chance that the robots will evolve into somthing unexpected in my system.
I lied: Its probebly going to be (the way its set up) 33%plants , 33%hunters, 33%unexpected-stuff.

Shvartz , look in the real world and give me an organism dont eather feed on matter , or on sunlight/heat. You wont find any.

My system even biggins with a whole different method of feeding , different from photosintazys or form hunting.

There are plenty of bacteria that feed on gases.

Not just any bacteria. A specific kind called archaeobacteria. Notice that "archea" - means old. These are very old bacteria from times when earth's atmosphere was reach in methane.

Ok here is a summery:
The Enzymes required for ‘Photosynthesis’ are MORE COMPLEX then the Enzymes Required for ‘Hunting’.
A robot using ‘Photosynthesis’ Enzymes will not be able to use ‘Hunting’ Enzymes without it being too costly.

It simply drains too mutch energy to have ‘Photosynthesis’ and ‘Hunting’ in one robot. Thats the idea I was thinking off.
I also think we should give the Hunters more chance because they also have to evolve hunter strategy. SO:

Trouble is that this is assigning those nasty arbitrary rules that Shvarz loves so much :bigginangel:
Using a bit pattern enzyme system there is simply no way to set up these arbitrary rules. All the mutation system will do is to change random bits in the bit pattern.
Enzyme bit patterns within this overall pattern will act directly on bit pattern type food, gas, sunlight or whatever to make bit pattern type proteins.
Then Shvarz's make and break controls take over and go to work on the myriad proteins that the robot now has.

Py, I know about the make beack rules , I was telling Shvartz to make sure they work with the "50/50 system".
Do they work?
If they do, then please summerize the "make break system" and post in the final virsion thread I started.

Yes, I beleive they can work in what you call 50/50 system. Whether they "will work" will depend on how well we balance the system out. And it will be tough balancing out a system with limitless possibilities :)
