My priority is to make it possible for different species to be able to live together as prey and predator without one wiping out the other. To do this we need to be able to make "niches" for bots to hide in while they adapt to their surroundings.
This involves more than one of the listed options but I think developing the e-grid should be the first step, followed by metabolism which will be closely related.

We'll need env.grid working before metabolism can be implemented anyway.  And it's a third way there already.

In my view, the Egrid is 1st priority. And bug-ironing of course. :)
