I just wasted two hours setting up two instances where I wanted one of them to run in Internet Mode and it gave me this error. Is the new program for internet mode incompatible with Win XP?
-
Let's put this on lowest priority for now, unless it happens for someone running an operating system that is not outdated. It works well on Windows 7.
-
Does it happen when you start IM?
-
Yes, I did the exact same procedure on my laptop as on my desktop.
-
I just thought I could have compiled it to 64 bit, and it seems it was. :P
Attached a 32 bit version.
-
So it was a 32 bit limitation?. I'll check it out tomorrow. Right now I'm running from my desktop with Win 7.
-
Yep, 32 bit limitation.
-
Peter, should I use the 32 bit in the package?
-
Just tested it, the 32bit does not seem to work at all...
-
server got no bots
[Errno 10053] An established connection was aborted by the software in your host
machine
Among others...
-
server got no bots
invalid literal for int() with base 10: ''
In other news, apparently my Vista Install is 32bit as well. gtk.
-
Testlund, any luck running this thing after Peter restarted the server??
-
Never mind, IM 32BIT IS WORKING. I AM ABLE TO TRANSFER MULTIBOTS BETWEEN MY TOWER AND MY LAPTOP!
-
I am going to run IM trough the night, feel free to join. :)
-
It was definitely working for a while, then I get:
[Errno 10060] A connection attempt failed because the connected party did not pr
operly respond after a period of time, or established connection failed because
connected host has failed to respond
I am shutting my computer down.

Some connection issues may be firewall related, I had them put manually less strict.(but that was reset after a reboot) With default firewall settings the server should work, but should isn't the same as will happen. The one bots has had was because the computer simply decided to power off.
edit: server offline. In the end of the week I'll do some testing with a visualized network with db clients and make some (final) adjustments to the server/client. There's not a lot to do on it, but I get distracted with other stuff easily.
-
I haven't tried Internet Mode since my last post. I thought I should wait until the next big drop first. Right now I'm running a zerobot sim offline.
I'm sure it was not my firewall that caused the issues I had. I know how to set up my firewall for the right things to pass through. If my firewall blocks something it will show in the log.
So it seems that IM may work for hours, then it stops working for hours, then it starts working again and so on. It might have something to do with the bots being sent as Peter hinted at, or maybe it could simply be that Peter might take it offline for awhile. You might not be able to keep it online for unlimited time. Maybe you need to use your server for other stuff sometime. Just guessing. :)

I wasn't aiming at the client firewall. That it was firewall related wasn't a conclusion, more a possible reason(I doubt it actually gives issues). The 'server' is my desktop computer, so yes I'm using it for other stuff sometimes. Which can have a effect on IM ( although I'm doubtful that'll give issues)
The whole time that you were online, Testlund. The computer was on, after that it's been off a few times.
