Released 2.48.28

Fixed an annoying bug when each time rerunning eco evo another tag is added to robot.

Fixed a bug in translocation mutation it was clipping wrong by one command.

Experimental fix in simple survival fitness function so I do not have to reset the mutation rates file manually.

If you are not using my advanced stuff it should not make a difference.

I know, I actually got 39 'stage-generations' total out of my zerobot  until I got tiered of babysitting it. Plant is going slow, but so far they managed to lose the slime gene. Uni is going slow too, all the paper work is taking some time. That was when I decided to visit and post an update. Later.  :P Oh, sorry for being completely defiant to the sarcasm, did that for two posts already. :P

Hmm... Kinda rushed that release a bit. Still tweaking the new experimental feature. Happy new year I guess.

[Bump]

Still evolving my zerobot. Optimized my new mutation renormalization feature. Fixed some minor bugs. Update to 2.48.28.

[Bump]

Just found a little bug in my survival fitness function.
Make sure you edit a robots mutation rates before using it for survival evolution.
I did not realize it was a bug because usually I disable point mutations before starting survival evolution with given robot.

Is WinXP still supported?

Where is it? The download still says 27.

EDIT: Never mind. I found it.

Is WinXP still supported?

It should be supported until the heat death of the universe or possibly DB3 depending on .NET/mono support.

The real question is with newer Windows versions.  Eventually one of these days an OS is going to come out that doesn't play with VB6 and then we're in trouble.

It should be supported...

Great! I'm excited to run a long sim to see how the new Randomizer will affect it, and I can only dedicate my laptop with Win XP to that. Right now I'm only testing it on my desktop to see if there might be any nasty bugs.

I hope that doesn't happen before DB3 is finished. I'm going to stay with Win 7 for my desktop as long as I possibly can, because I'm happy with how it works. The best OS so far imo.

Idk Numsgil, I am seriously considering doing my own port...

Microsoft gives "it just works support" for the lifecycle of all current supported Microsoft operating systems. So that would mean they'll still fix bugs in the VB6 runtime in 2025(for windows 10). It seems the lead developer that started VB in the late 80's is still in charge of maintaining VB, maybe they'll pull the plug when he retires.

Ah I didn't know that.  Makes sense if they still have an engineer that knows the code.

Alright, if nothing goes epic wrong by Sunday then looks like next drop is definitely Sunday. IM will be re-tested Sunday before the drop.
