Title: bugs, bugs, bugs
Post by: jknilinux on January 11, 2010, 11:35:24 PM
OK, with my sims:

As soon as I open 2.43.1L, it says "Run-Time error 62, Input past end of file"

When I try to open a sim in 2.44.04, it says "Run-time error 5, Invalid procedure call or argument"

When I successfully open it in 2.43.1m, I set my sim to autosave every 10 minutes, but it does not even after the 10-minute point. However, it usually gives me a divide-by-zero error first.

I then tried opening the autosave directory in win. explorer to see if I could include one of the sims as an attachment to this post, but when I open the directory win explorer tells me there's nothing in the folder.

This is with the "my first successful evosim" thing.

BTW, could it be because I have 211 sims in my autosave directory?

Did you try loading one of your previous sims, or do these come up for all of them?

I thought that's only if a bot divides by zero. If DB itself divides by zero, you have a problem...

That's right, which is why I hoped to erase that post before anybody managed to point out this obvious mistake. Apparently I didn't.

It could have something to do with the fact that you are running a simulation network, although this usually never bothered me...

Nah, after one sim dies the one connected to it keeps going, then dies probs a few minutes later. If it was a network problem both would die at the same time, right?

Usually the program asks you if you want to continue last simulation. If error 62 comes before that, I'd be inclined to think the file could have been deleted or corrupt.

When I click on "continue last sim," it brings up something from like 3 months ago.

Another clue that your sims are an issue...

Huh, turned off autosave, works fine now...

And if you turn it back on?

Division by zero once more...

Can you try reproducing the problem on a fresh install?  With very definitive steps I can follow to reproduce?
