No eyes but fires ties completely randomly for a extra feeding source, and unlucky bots get eaten.

Is it possible to make a virus that won't kill what it's shot into...I found my zerobots only mutate if infected by viruses, which then they do .repro, but they die almost instantly then, and I'd love to insert a virus carrying bot (one specifically designed to carry the virus pretty much only...So no repro in it) Then infect me zero's

what are your setting (attachment) and how long did you run the sim for?

I ran 5 sims, each with 15 zero bots
I ran them for a bout 2000 cycles each (though 1 did stop at 800 cycles as the cancerous bot invaded)
I had 1 predator, Animal_Microlasis at really low numbers, and it doesnt move much so... it was a ideal predator for encouraging evolution once it had repro and move started.
Cant remember exact settings...But only once did it mutate, thats when a virus (from somewhere 0.0) shot into it, it reproduced once, both died.
Its like, wth? Really zerobot support should trigger 1st mutation much sooner, maybe if you set it at delta mutation.
Even a 1 in 1000 per cycle mutation rate, didn't work.

Ok, in the latest version of DB2...its got a new behavior...
Yes, a NEW BEHAVIOR! Its using the smallest little outer points of its colonies as eyes, and then when food is sighted, the larger ones in the center start to reproduce and extend the colony that way. It is trying to be an animal-algae!

1stly, I wish we could auto-update darwinbots from within the program.
now Why don't we have a new league...

Litterally, the slightly larger than F1 Size & its covered in a sparse carpet of high energy veggies (2 kinds maybe?) and bots have to eliminated all other bots in as large an area, dominating the veggies.
I mainly suggest this because, my Aggressive Dwarfs like claiming veggies for themselves, they quite litterally wrap themselves around the veggies, and get angry at everyone else...They're like a very spikey blanket

I err, tested Animal_Microlasis (AKA Aggressive Dwarfs) in a little fun setup battle.
I put 25 Alga_Mimalis in the middle and put just on each side a competitor.
side 1: 2 Bubbles
side 2: 2 Animal_Microlasis
side 3: 2 Fruit_Flies

Bear in mind that Animal_Microlasis doesn't use any ties but does contain a virus which it shoots one of each reproduction. But it is tiny, and relatively basic genes...The result: Most of the Alga_Mimalis is still their, but within the chain of Animal_Microlasis that forms whenever I put even 1 of it, fruitflies has left 3 of them there, and are using the other 4 to pull away 5 alga_mimalis (Btw, alga_mimalis I made mass-reproduce by giving it 30000 energy to start and a high sun intensity) And...The Animal_Microlasis, has pushed the feild to where-ever the fruit_flies run to, and are just dominating! 

Picture coming, oh wait, found 1 bubbles running away XD Cowardly bubbles.
So green is animal_Microlasis
A maroon-coloured set up the top left is the only bubbles.
and the rest of the brown circles are fruitflies, trying to win

750 bots per colony.
Big. Total bots in sim is 6000, 2000 are corpse, 1 is a specially labelled corpse (cuz its best bot) and 3000, are microlasis, the other 6 or 7 populations are left in the 1000 section

Yep, the picture shows it destroying a (large) colony of veggies, it mutated from Animal_Mimalis originally, and got so small in some parts of it, that predators couldn't see it, now its colonising
For a moment I thought it was a exploded animal_viral_mimalis colony after they got re-infected with their own virus (gotta fix that) which also originally came in the same sim from animal_mimalis, each now have 5 genes, the microlasis's 5th gene, is also a virus shoot, it just doesnt contain a virus (yet) and it changed its repro-requirements...

Im running my sim with a few bots then about 10 of my zerobots (containing 20 0's on seperate lines) but it wont...do ANYTHING 
Ive even tryed encouraging it by throwing it next to veggies, nothing still. 
I want it to do atleast SOMETHING! even if it has to just something.

With atleast 1 of the bots it has #'s ignoring parameters...? And It wont display any bot names in the sims then.
Where has the program broken the code?

EDIT: Screw that, I just removed the hashtag at the end of the code...Let me edit the post as well or it wont work xD with any bots.

Also, Animal_Microlasis, still tiny individually has hit colonies I estimate to be 100 bots large, its really draining my computer, but I got an awesome screenie i've put on a post in the tavern
Its invading properly. A lot of the plant/veggie zones have been covered in it, Its officially Dubbed 'AggresiveDwarfs' in my save now, But I think it might actually be holding together the planties to use them as long-term rations...Possibly, and it's eating it in from 1 side mainly then...Because 2 food growths have now been dragged/moved together, So yes, I can still count, im not going insane

EDIT:EDIT: Screw the figure of 100 bots large, the attachment shows population, there is only 4 colonies of Microlasis, and..err...yes, population shows the numbers of microlasis, especially in comparison to other bots, down the bottom you can see the total bot populas, Now, a corpse of (something) is apparently the best bot thats the population of 1 on the graph, but I think, microlasis is certainly best, bear in mind, that 2k of the bots is corpse, yeah...Its about 750 bots per colony. big, and currently I believe middle colony is dragging a 3rd food source into its nation.

K thanks, also mind trying Animal_Microlasis in one of your experiments, with a hungry predator I want to see if it was just an anomaly that it could *sneak* past other bots.

Debugging, Ahh I love where the term came from...heres a story:
A Female (I think) programmer in a military base (If my memory serves me correctly) was doing some work and a bug flew onto her screen, she flicked it off and someone (not having seen the bug) asked what she was doing, she said she was just 'debugging her screen'
