Newbie / sucide gene

ok heres my question.
I already know how to delete genes but if I want to make a bot turn itself into a corpse (to prevent another bot from getting its energy in this case) how could I do that?

how about the ability to disable different shot types so that evosims dont end up with predetor veggies
like mine always do

with varing max velocity is a problem if you go faster than it you waste energy, if you go slower than it you are inferior to the bots that go fatser than you.
so all you have to to is add this to your dna

making your bot go at the top speed without wasitng any energy and it gives your bot a large advantage over those who dont
I do not know if this has been done but some newer people (even newer than me) can use this to a good effect.

Bugs and fixes / bot going off the sim RESOLVED (BY DESIGN)

anyway I made a bot that goes in a straight line but when it hit the side it doesnt stop it just goes of the edge of the sim and I never see it again
I expect it wont happen when I get home though.
but can I have some help anyway?

as far as I remember a virus is a semi living thing that will control cells and reproduce itself to death while ejecting viruses.
a real virus like that doesnt kill the bot just gets into every bot and attempts to makemore viruses would be cool

the sound of my site is awful because I am nowhere near finished on it and it is at the back of all the things I have to do.
also I had to remove the medievil chav films because of some hateful comments on them meaning that my best freind has done nothing to contribute besides that so it feels like a one man (or should I say teenager) company

Bugs and fixes / a bug running the software RESOLVED (DUPLICATE)

runtime error 713
class not registered
you need the following file to be installed on your machine MSSTDFMT.DML
I tried reinstalling it and redownloading the software and then redowloading it but that wont work. for some reason it lets me run v2.1 so ill live until I get it working.
can someone get me a copy of the file and tell me what folder it needs to be it
(note I installed it in c:\Program files)

This has given me an idea.
What if two bots gave the dna rather than one?
a swarm bot that will stick together then make a third one using bth dna.
but the new bot rahter than having no genes when born has one gene stopping more bots from coming in tho the reproduction technuique.
is this an idea?
also by editing the genes that you add to it yopu could create living bombs and such

should I (more like will no one be unfair to me) if I make a darwin bot game?
you would be a bot defending your part of the simulation from a mass of bots that go into the area for various reasons.
some for the vegs, some drifted there, and some are evil virused bots from a bertha somewhere that have been sent to controll every section of the simulation (maybye).
you would be able to use every kind of shot in the game (including viruses(probably))for your help and then possibly (if I can work out a way) tie feed on other bots.
so should I? (I actually mean will I be punished if I do)

I was runnig a simulation and a tiebot tied to 2 vegs and then to a bot.
somehow they stopped fighting each other and shared nrg and waste and stuff.
anyway I tried to load the thing again and the bot just kiled the tiebot and fed of the vegs

I was thinking about making a lamebot (doesnt move) leach tie feeder it would hunt by spinning and then when it sees something it would shoot the tie then feed of it.
it coukd also use the tie to send a virus that cears its genes to that it doesnt fight back.
anyway what genes should I use to do this

Suggestions / new tieing text

when a bot shoots a tie it should actually be a shot (maybye -7) so that if you want to make a tie bot from a pre existing bot its not totally impossible just change the -1 or whatever to the tie shooting number.
and yes I do know that tie shots arnt actualy a real shot
