Suggestions / Re: The randomizer

NOO! I'm talking about the exe file "DarwinTrue2.48.25.exe"! It connects to random.org to generate random numbers that is supposed to affect DB somehow.

I wanted to test this how it works, but I'm only running the sim with this exe for a few seconds, then I save and load the sim with the other exe, hoping that the sim will have been affected by random.org.

I'm not the best one to help with bots. I only know about the things I've read on the wiki and asked about in posts. I recommend you check out some posts about it.

I don't even know what that is.

The randomizer runs every 2 seconds and freezes the sim for 10 seconds each time, which pretty much puts the sim to a stand-still. It would be nice if the randomizer worked a lot less often. What is it randomizing exactly? The dna?

Is this setting meant to prevent bot without reproduction genes to reproduce, like bots affected by Alzheimers?

"Banta" is a Swedish word for trying to lose weight by consuming less calories.  :)

It's my laptop that is beginning to fail I think. I can have a sim running fine for a week and suddenly I get BSOD.

Because DB autosaves so often, and to the same file, I think the risk is high that it tries to save just when a hardware error happens, which makes the save corrupt.

So now I have to try to remember to do manual saves several times a day.

I think it was better when you could set your own save intervals and have multiple saves. Now there is only one autosave that is used and if that one is corrupted (which always happens when I get BSOD) then the whole sim is lost.

It's also less taxing on the hard drive to not save every 2000 cycles as it is now. Every writing to the hard drive shortens it's life span.

I have to agree with Shadowgod here. Not your best track.

There are very little modern electronic music that I like. I prefer genres from certain time periods, like electronica, house, italo disco and electro from the 1980's, new beat from around 1987, trance, house and techno from the 1990's and progressive/electro house from between 2005 - 2010.

I haven't bought or downloaded anything since 2010, with the exception for a few tracks from people I follow on SoundCloud. Speaking of which; there are a couple of great mixes I found a few days ago that I'm going to listen to tonight while getting ready for a Halloween club night. Highly recommended!  :)

Bug reports / Re: These overflow errors in IM

I already have Safe Mode enabled in the Global settings.

If these errors happens because of hacking it must be at the server in which case everybody connected to it should get these errors. ..in theory at least. I don't experience any hacking attempts on my computer.

I finally got this message that tells me what files to send, which should make it easier for Botsareus to debug. Unfortunately no "localcopy.sim" or "lastautosave.sim" were created, so I'm uploading a zip with the files "Global.gset", "lastran.set" and "All my bots - START.sim".

The error should appear shortly after you load the sim and start IM.

I just got that now, a few seconds after I started IM. Now I'm trying to run with a single instance only.

Bug reports / These overflow errors in IM
« on: October 27, 2014, 03:57:30 AM »
I'm still crashing when running in IM. It happened several times last night only displaying a message that says it's an overflow. Eventually I was able to restart in Safe Mode after which, of course, there were no more overflows.

Does anybody else get this error message where it only says it's an overflow instead of "run-time error" when you run a single instance in IM? If not, then maybe it has something to do with me running multiple instances. This seems like a long shot though because they should be completely different processes and shouldn't have anything to do with each other.
