Run time error 7
« on: October 26, 2005, 06:58:55 PM »
Hi all,
Brief newbie question which I'm sure has an incredibly simple answer. Everytime I press any button in the openign screen after "Sparicsi!" I get "Run time error 7: Out of memory". What's up with that?

Hmm, shouldn't do that then.

The only thing I can think of is that maybe you need to restart?  Or try a different version...  which version are you running?

Sounds like a virus... let me gess: fast internet connection, download a lot of rubble from all over the place , go figure...
Thats A (a sayes that somthing else is happely eating on your 512ram and letting vb even have the crums)
So, dont run counter strike and vb at the same time unless you know what you are doing.

Now B is a bit more horrible, vb is not designed to run with the new ram?!

You may also try: Ctrl+Alt+Del > higlight DarwinBots > Back click > Go to prosses > Backclick on the prosses > Set Priority > High

Btw, what virsion of the program are you running?

A virus can cause vb to run out of memory.

It is possible that without the default.set file DB may be attempting to load stuff ad infinitum till it runs out of RAM

I know this has been asked before but what version did you start with?

If you didn't run the installer that comes with the V2.11 download then you have none of the necessary activeX components and your directories will likey be hosed.

You should always run the installer first then unzip whichever version you want to run, into the DarwinBotsII directory.

Yes, be sure to run the 2.11 Installer first.  I believe I even had those instructions right on the download page, but I know how rarely people actually read what I write.   -_-  :P

The instructions are also right up there at the top of this board too.

Like you say though. nobody ever reads the instructions before diving right in when they see a new game.

I don't think we need to bring this kind of problem into the bug report forum. This is more likely to be a lack of reading/using/following or simply being able to find, the right information and instructions.
