Well 2 comments to you.
Firstly, nobody can lose creativity, nor can they gain it. Everyone is infinitely creative, they just need to try to access it.
As you believe your losing creativity, your mind decides to shut off that part, otherwise nothing would stop you being uncreative...

Also, really DB will need to shut up the whole zerobots thing...Change the goal to getting animal_minimalis to evolve to perform a complex behavior...Because life had a basic area to start from......Had some functional genes to start...then evolved, thats what you need to get to happen.

Botsareus:
1. Sometimes it is a good thing to numb yourself, just make sure you do not numb yourself all the way, been there done/seen that.
2. That is possible in the current system. If internet mode actually worked it would be even more awesome. If you prefer to run purely logical simulations that will be awesome too.
3. Stop going backwards on yourself.

Botsareus:
Yes, I know. My was 'I am a green control freak.'

actually creativity can be gained or lost just like learning a new skill. it's like a muscles, don't use it you lose it. how? it's all about the connections in the brain. the more you use it the more connections are made. the less you use, connections are lost though at a much slower rate than it was to make them, which is where the phrases "just like riding a bike" and "i'm a little rusty" come from. you know that little headache you get just barely noticeable just after you've done something you haven't done in a while? it's your brain reconnecting lost connections. the same goes to learning a new skill but instead of reconnecting it's just connecting. just do some research to learn more.

The scientific side yes. But when you get to brain science and such, a lot of problems occur with using 1 single model to explain everything...So far atleast...
Technically actually its physics thats deciding it, and nothing you do will change it, you have no free will. No choice. thats the most accurate model for everything, minute variables in physics control all.

But, best model for creativity on a relative level, is simply that its permanantly there, you just need to believe your creative, and thus creativity will be accessed.
