I'm getting these error messages though:

"[Errno 2] No such file or directory: 'inbound/neworganism_3.temp'
invalid literal for int<> with base 10: ''

How are bots picked when there is no teleporter in the sim?

The inbound bots are inserted in random locations (by design).

Make sure your IM paths point to the directorys that exist on your hard drive (see picky)
