Shootless bots for evolution
« on: September 07, 2005, 02:30:57 AM »
Been working on using various types of modified algas to allow bots to accurately feed from only plants. One plant designed places a -1 in the bot's in1 which it then uses to shoot. Another fires nrg at the bots in order to feed them.

In one (Grav sim) the bots still were able to restrict the feeding of other bots by becomming MBs(not deleting tie at robage 0). I think the MBs are forming a sort of restraint for the plants, along with obvious cost, and height bennefits. Had to eventually add a slayer bot to the sim and watched as the bots began to rely on living walls as a new avoidance method.

In the most extreme sim the bot has just some junk dna and a repro gene. It surprisingly, managed to adapt around the Slayer, by duplicating it's *.eye5 reference.

Alright, all I've got time for right now. I mainly just want to see what everyone else's thoughts were.

Time zones wreak havoc talking over the web, it's still about 3:35 where I'm at. On the plus side I can respond to you during my lunch and respond to your responses around dinner.

Still haven't posted them, this evening I'll swing by the hotspot with the laptop.
