There is a minor problem with 'Ghosts' when the 'Planet Eaters' mode is on.

The robots spring past each other and travel at huge velocity.

One way of fixing this is to have all robots have a 'Marble' center.

Keep in mind:

I don't want to treat a 2D simulation as having a simple Z layer under any conditions, that is why I am pushing w/ this.
