A minimalistic yet powerful simulator

Hi to all,
I would like to use this forum to announce the first release of my Darwinian evolution simulator called Evoversum. Windows binaries are at:

Sources are available through SVN, too. I would appreciate if some Darwinbots users tested Evoversum and compared the evolved intelligence to that typically observed in Darwinbots. An example of an evolved world is in the file "maze.wld" in the directory "worlds" -- it corresponds to several hours of evolution, but my goal are much longer simulations. My wish would be both projects to shed light on each other with respect to which features are essential to interesting evolution and which are just bloating the program, making clear analysis difficult. Any ideas or contributions are welcome!

Hmm, downloaded it, but I'm not sure how to get it to work.  What should I be running?

First run Evoversum_server.exe
Then run alife_gui.exe in alife_client_standalone directory
or read quickstart instructions and basic description in README.txt
I am aware that much more documentation than this README is needed
-- will add it as soon as possible, but I am quite busy now.
The server has a XML-RPC interface, so you can script it very easily.

I don't see any .exe files other than the server and redistributables. Specifically, alife_gui.exe is not there.

This is strange, I downloaded the .zip, unzipped it, looked into the

alife_client_standalone

directory and had no problems finding the alife_gui.exe along with alife_console.exe intended for those who wish to script the simulation from Python. Is the file really not there?
I will prepare some Youtube videos when time allows.

Double and triple checked, that's five checks overall Have you downloaded the zip from the files section? Haven't you accidentally used the SVN repo instead? Haven't you accidentally looked in alife_client instead of alife_client_standalone? Isn't some antivirus software causing the trouble? This is really strange...
I will upload it to a different location, then... stay tuned.

I did check around 5 times, really, but you knew what I meant. Yes, I did. I didn't. I didn't. I don't have an active anti-virus, I do a scan every so often, but nothing active. It probably is strange.

The only explanation for the strange behaviour I am able to think of is that some mirrors of Sourceforge have an incomplete copy of the archive.
This is really weird.
