Error 339? (solved!)
« on: September 16, 2008, 03:12:48 PM »
I just downloaded and installed DB2.1 & 2.43.1L . When I try to run a new sim in DB 2.1, it just crashes. When I try to run a new sim in DB 2.43.1L, I get this:
----

Run-time error '339':

Component 'COMCT232.OCX' or one of its dependencies not correctly registered: a file is missing or invalid

----
This is on vista. Thanks in advance for any help!

I discovered how to do it, but it's more in-depth than that thread makes it appear. Here's how to do it:

1:Start>search for cmd.exe, R-click, make shortcut to it on desktop
2:R-click it, choose run as administrator
3:type in regsvr32 comct232.ocx (you must be in system32)
4:try running it again, find what it says it is missing now (/\/\/\/.ocx)
5:go back to 3, typing in /\/\/\/.ocx instead, until there are no more errors!

My bet would be, just run everything as admin. Begin with the DB2.0 installer. Probably the original DB2.0 can't register becouse it isn't run as admin. I thought that was explained in the download-wiki already.
