Appearance of these bots?
Randy:
Hi Folks,
I'm new to Darwinbots and this forum. A few days ago, I started evolving some 500 zero ZeroBots and am currently at about 3.1 million cycles. Three of my bots have a different appearance, an inner circle, which I don't know what it means. They appear to be almost very very slowly crawling while the other bots are either slowly floating around or moving on their own. Can some someone tell me what their appearance tells me? (I've posted a couple of screen captures of the bots with this message.)
I'm really enjoying just watching this evolution and seeing what develops. It seems a lot of you are much more technical then I am but I'm having a lot of fun.
Thanks,
Randy

Hi!
You can see a quick quide here about the different graphical things you're likely to see. The red and yellow circles are shell and slime respectively.
It's interesting that a zerobot would have either. Mind explaining your approach? Maybe you could post some DNA
Randy:
My setup was a 9327 x 6928 field (smallest) with brownian motion set to bacteria (.5) and no costs. In this setting I put 100 of my 500 zero Zerobots and let the evolution run.
As of this moment at about 3.3 million cycles I have two Zerobots running around shooting, I think, viruses. I've attached a screen capture of them. Also right now I have seven Zerobots with both slime and a shell and two with just slime. Thus far in this evolution there have been no Zerbots reproducing.
I put at the end of this post the DNA of one of my Zerbots with both slime and a shell. I haven't compared the DNA of all the Zerbots with slime and a shell with each other so don't know how close they are to each other in DNA.
I hope I have given you a thorough picture of what I did. If you need more information let me know. I'll continue to run the evolution through the night.
Randy

EricL:
Welcome aboard Randy. They are probably info shots.
I've seen slime and shell show up in zerobots as a conseqyuence of being hit by info shots from constant shooters wth the right .shootval.
Randy:
Hi Eric,
Thanks for the welcome and thanks for letting me know that those are info shots. As of this morning I have just one zerobot running around sending out shots. It seems that those shots cause some of the other zerbots to release, I think, energy when hit. Added a screen capture of this to the post. I also have several more zerobots with shells and slim. Also have some with just slime and have some with just a shell. I'm currently at about 3.75 million cycles.
