An 'infertility' option
« on: December 07, 2006, 06:52:27 AM »
Hi,

In addition to the 'fixed in place'  'vegetable' 'disable vision' etc option, could we have a 'disable reproduction' option? It could be used to prevent 'cleaner bots' from reproducing for example.

What do you think?

It's easy to do.

One might argue that you can acheive this by not having a reproduction gene and disabling mutations for that species, but perhaps over time they still might end up reproducing if they aquire a reproduction gene via a virus...

Anyway, it's easy to do and having the option right there would make it simple for the human.  If there are no objections, I'll add it.
Many beers....

That sounds an easy way to add the odd predator bot to an evolving sim without it getting to out of control, good idea!
