The other league idea I had, more a concise history of DB bot development, is the Hall of Fame;

So far, only in rough, I can probably sort dates but need bot names and authors, I have thought of;

??? first day/night bot (PY?)
??? first pond bot (PY?)
??? first symbiotic bot (??)
??? first viral bot (???)
??? first bot to delete birth tie (PY)
??? first bot to turn away from babies at birth (Jez?)
??? first bot to divide at moment sim was started (Jez)
??? first braking to avoid moving veg bot (PY??)
??? First ant bot (??)
??? first tie defence (PY)
Jez’s one-gened-bot – First single gene bot (Jez)
????? – First working tie feeder (PY)
Circumversor Algificus – First Spinner bot/First bot by (Jez)
Vermis worm? first MB (Probably Carlo)
I. Flamma – One of the original bots (Jeremiah)
I. Venia – One of the original bots (Jeremiah)
T. Preservans – One of the original bots (John Turner)
C. Discernens – One of the original bots (Carlo)

You'll probably notice it's a bit bias towards me and PY atm but I thought it would be nice to have some sort of overview for the development of bots, the noticable stages. I also thought it would be nice to add first bots from all the different bot designers. (My first was Circumversor Algificus AFAIK) Dates will be added and it will be done as a timeline. Need more names and some more first stuff though.

Very rough atm but it's just a thought.

The first tie feeder was my "H Devincio Venator"
The first bot to delete its birth ties was my "Hunter 2.13"
The first braking to align with moving veg bots was my "Destinatus Preliator"
The first bot to truly track the movements of another bot was Numsgil's "Ymir"
The first ant bot was (I think) my "Ant Bot"
The first bot with an active tie defence leach system was my "Devincio Dominator"
The first non-tie feeder with an anti-tie defence was my "Hunter 2.2" (I think)
Not sure about the first pond bot or day/night bot though I think possibly both of these may be my "Algae Stratificus" which is designed to float up and down the water column to different depths when day changes to night.

You are right, you and I did rather dominate the field way back when all these firsts came out.
I'm sure there are some other catagories where others took the lead though, particularly if we do some stuff with evolved bots.

He he, thanks for the info.

I was thinking, rather than a hall of fame just adding the info to the subtitles in the bestiary. Probably a simpler way to do it.

Btw PY

As default league master could you perhaps take a quick glance at this thread; League settings
Apart from the one change of allowing max speed and hopefully more variety of bot behaviours I was hoping to get it pretty much as it was originally, anything you can add or correct would be great.
All the league settings should be defaulted with the next buddy drop to make it easy to have the same settings as everyone else when designing league bots.

Those settings look pretty much like the originals to me.

I was thinking that waste management could be set so that the bots would need to actively manage it but I guess that would count against some of the older bots who seem to otherwise be doing Ok in 2.4X

Let's set everything just the way it is in that list

Thanks for checking it.

You know, being 4 hrs into my first league match with Atrium V(DH) and Anubis C with the score still 0/0 and Dark Hunter losing about 1 bot every 2 hrs, I figure I might be able to get a result for the whole match in say another 46 hrs time and I am really really missing active waste managment and really really not looking forward to running any other competitors against Hunter if the waste isn't added...

Reminds me of some of the matches of Ymir vs. one of PY's bots.  It would be like 500 of PY's bots vx. 1 of Ymir, and it would take 3 hours to run a round, and Ymir would eventually win.

How's that for mind blowing

Lol. How's that for mind numbing?

You young whippersnappers had it easy. ROFL

League suspended btw until active waste managment, or Erics 10k waste limit imposed.

PS what was your first bot, and seeing as I know you must have done some other firsts in bot design, what were they?

Ymir was my first bot.  Animal Minimalis was created as a base bot I could add to.  Spanish Conquistador was the first bot to use a stable self replicating virus.  Enitor Comesum is primarily an interesting bot, but isn't the first of anything.  Fish School likewise.

That's pretty much all the bots I've ever designed.

Cheers, I've only added the subtitle to a few bots atm 'cause it didn't seem the most important bit to get done, but it'll make it quicker for me when I do do it.

I think my bot in that epic battle was most likely Destinatus Preliator.
We had just released a new version withthe "Scalar" sysvars and your Ymir was the first true dogfighter in the new system.
We had some truly epic battles back in them days.

Could the owners of Anon Terifica and Animal Minimalis, that had just got to 488th round, neck and neck before the sim crashed, please come and collect them from the recycle bin.
