I absolutely detest doing this, but now users must login in to wiki to edit.  This should cut down on spammers.

I didn't know there was such an option ...
if so, we should have been using it since day one ...
as VERY few people actually edit.

I've been protecting pages ...
which means then only those given sysops status can edit.
which would also work, as there are only a few folks who
do edit and those I have already given sysops status.

so good.

but you do realize spammers have bots that make up
User names and do log in to do their spamming?

Yeah, I realize that.  If the spamming continues (it might be too much of a chore now) I might tie registration in the forums in with registration on the wiki.  The forums have those little "what's in the box?" questions to deter automation.

I just tried signing out and attempting to edit ...
and couldn't.

so yes ...
this is a big advantage.

what does leak thru ... I imagine we can easily handle.

If it's still bad I can prevent anonymous users from creating new accounts.  But I really really don't want to have to do that.  Every restriction I place moves me further towards fascism, which I find repugnant given my libertarian ideals

Spammers have gone away, yay!

It's weird to see the recent changes page blank
