Sysvars trouble with version 2.4.9c
« on: March 21, 2006, 02:44:48 PM »
I found when I start up the program it is unable to find some variables in the Sysvars2.21.txt file, the one that is downloadable on the wiki. The blue starting screen gets frozen and behind it I get a window where I can manually go to the sysvars file and load it. When I try that I get Run-time error '62': Input past end of file. The OLD Sysvars.txt seems to work, but I've heard it's not compatible with later versions of Darwinbots.

1.  Is that 2.4.9, meaning a known buggy version I've since replaced?

2.  Are you trying to run it from the VB front end or as a stand alone executable?

If you're running it from inside VB, this is a known issue which I fixed for myself and you can too!

Search the project for "Numsgil".  You'll find this comment:
Quote
'this just helps numsgil not get a 'where is sysvars2.21' error
'when running from inside VB
'(PY, feel free to change this to suite your needs as well

The line that follows rigs the code to look in the proper place.  Feel free to change that line to your own program directory.

It's the version that Eric has been working on; 2.4.9c. It's just the executable because I haven't managed to install VB6, so I can't run the sourcecode.

I don't know then.  Unless the exe is not in the standard directory?
