I am back...
Griz:
fyi ...
using a screen with a 4/3 aspect ratio ...
an ellipse will give you a 'field size' that at best can utilize about 78% of it ...
a circle about ~ 59%
weigh that against the computing/coding complexity of bot movement
in an elliptical vs circular field and see how that plays out.
Griz:
just a quick visualization of the screen as ellipse/circle ...
I used a 3D sphere, ellipsoid just 'cause I'm already set
up for that so it's actually easier to do.
even with the elliptical field, there is some 'wasted space'.
but whos to say we couldn't use that for the buttons/sliders/controls/graphs, etc?
in the circular one, we can use all the space on the left, or put it on the right ...
for these ... perhaps some useful 'real time' stats.
don't mind me ...
it's 35F and raining outside so I'm just playing around today.
Botsareus:
Num I was refearing to point B not point A , sorry. I was one step ahead of you I beat.
Numsgil:
Bots, if they were really on the circle's edge like that the distance between them would be the circle's diameter. Ie: 200
Their actual distance is sqr((129-70)^2 + (129-70)^2) = 84.
Botsareus:
OK, I GIVE UP, I WILL GO HOME AND VB IT., THE WHOLE THING.
